Side Collisions
Another accident type that is common to the valley is the side collision.
The side collision occurs when vehicles are traveling in an intersection and the striking vehicle hits the other vehicle with its front end running into some part of either of the sides of the other vehicle. Such side accidents or "t-bones" could occur at or around the front end affecting the engine. In the alternative, the striking could be at or around the cab area. These side collisions are often the most dangerous to the passengers do to the direct contact of the striking vehicle. When serious injuries occur, people may choose to hire a Phoenix personal injury attorney.
In a side accident, it is usually the complete fault of the driver who is doing the striking. However, unlike the rear end collision, at times the driver who strikes the other vehicle is not at least totally at fault. Such instance could occur when the vehicle that was hit, proceeded through a red light. Although a driver entering the intersection has a duty to proceed only after seeing it is clear from alternative traffic, in some cases, it is very nearly impossible to see a vehicle coming until it is too late to avoid a collision.
