Small Claims Court

Every personal injury attorney Phoenix practitioner at times uses the small claims court, as it is called in Arizona, the Justice Court that resolve cases involving relatively small amounts of money.

The Justice Court can be an inexpensive, simple and quick option for many personal injury attorney Phoenix cases. In the Justice Court, procedures and rules are simpler to enable parties to represent themselves if so desired.

In the Justice Court, claims can be made for cases involving $7500 or less. There is also a separate small claims court that requires an even less amount in dispute. Filing a claim is relatively inexpensive as it relates to court fees. In more formal Superior Court, lawyers are for the most part preferred and proper legal research, investigation and preparation is need to prevail in such a setting. This makes Superior Court less desirable for some personal injury attorney Phoenix cases.

Because of the more deliberative setting and rules, Superior Court moves much slower than Justice Court and therefore Justice Court allows for a much speedier resolution to a case. Often times a Justice Court hearing takes no more than 20 minutes and the judge either announces her decision immediately or decides in a couple of days and then mails the verdict to the litigants.

Justice Courts in Arizona therefore are very viable forums to resolve a personal injury liability dispute.
